Pain has a way of getting our attention. Problems get noticed. However, as Albert Einstein famously noted: "You can never solve a problem on the level that it was created."
This means that the solution to any problem cannot be found by focusing on or analyzing the problem or why it exists. The solution lies in the realm of "everything that is NOT the problem" which is always much bigger than the problem, and therefore contains a lot of potential.
A Solutions Focus approach automatically shifts our attention from what is not working to what is. It allows us to highlight, explore and ultimately expand the positive aspects of our situation in order to cause it to improve.
